Unable to walk gets food support.
Now the family can think about other plans, such as education.
The 50 year elderly sick Woman Hindiah Ali Mabkhout Jahlan is the sole breadwinner of one of the destitute poorest families in the town of Hajjah, in Nua’aman neighborhood. After the death of her husband, she become in charge of the whole members of her family which consists of (7), 4 sons and 3 daughters where one of her sons suffers from a tumor right arm, the old sick woman is trying her best to provide the basic needs for her helpless seven children as they don’t have any other source of income.`As her health was deteriorated day after day as she was suffering from a malignant disease in one eye (cancer), being the sole bread winner of the family, she could not support the family any more. The only source of livelihood was asking help , food and the most basic needs from her neighbors.
“I can not even walk from house to house asking for a living for my children any more “said the eldrey woman , Hajjah Hidiah. She lives in the area of Zaqada — in Nu’man neighbourhood in one room built by the remains of building materials (Bricks ), no roof for the room except a plastic piece. As this room is located in a sloop in an area of falling rocks which makes it hard to reach them, the family has nothing but this place as a shelter — This family was discovered by one of the project teamwork accidentally who reported the family suffering to the project management and he was the same person giving this poor family a hand through collecting some cash and in kind assistance from his colleagues and neighbors. After suffering for so long, life started to smile for this family again by becoming one of the beneficiaries in FOOD & CV project. The family has got the first food ration from the FOOD & CV project which is implemented by the Vision Hope International in August 2016 funded by the WFP. Because of her health condition which is worsening day by day, the elderly women will not be able to support the family moving from one house to another collecting assistance from people the way she did in the past. However this family is lucky and destiny never let them down by getting the basic needs out of the food ration is a turning point for this family. Feeling more secure will give them a chance to look forward to thinking about other important things in life such as education which can open many chances for them in the future. The other way is the emotionally wise, feeling secure makes the family member psychologically more stable and happier and behave with more balance.
The other aspect is the social aspect as they don’t need to get any help from their local community or neighbours makes them equal to everybody there .
